FutureVoter is a project of VoteAmerica. VoteAmerica is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that works to increase voter turnout. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains VoteAmerica and FutureVoter collect, use, and protect your information when you use our websites, tools, or software (the "Services").

Overview

  • FutureVoter was built specifically for citizens who are between 13 and 17.
  • Children under 13 may not use our Services.
  • We collect only the information necessary to help you pre-register or register to vote.
  • We do not sell, share, or use your information for advertising.
  • You and/or your parent/guardian may request deletion of your information at any time.

Who can use our Services

You can use the FutureVoter website and software applications if you meet the following requirements:

  • You are a US citizen.
  • You are at least 13 years old.
  • You agree to be bound by the FutureVoter Terms of Service.
  • We encourage parents and guardians to be involved in their teenager’s use of our Services.

Information we collect

When you use the FutureVoter pre-registration tool, we may collect the following pieces of information from you:

  • Your full name
  • Your home address
  • Your phone number and email address
  • Your date of birth
  • Other information that the election officials in your county or state need to process your pre-registration application.

How we use your information

We do not use your information for marketing, advertising, or commercial purposes. We use your information to:

  • Help you pre-register or register to vote
  • Send you reminders about election deadlines, voter eligibility, or registration status
  • Provide support if you contact us

Information sharing

We will not share or sell the personal information of users under 18 with anyone under any circumstances unless required by law. This means we do not share your information with your partners, or our customers, or with other third parties. Your information is only shared with our employees or vendors who have been hired to operate the Services. Our employees and vendors are bound by strict confidentiality agreements.

Protecting your information

We take your privacy seriously. We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption and access controls, to protect your information. VoteAmerica maintains SOC 2 and HIPAA certifications.

Your rights

If you are under 18, or the parent/guardian of a user under 18, you may:

  • Request access to personal information we hold
  • Request deletion of personal information, subject to election recordkeeping laws
